It's 169 days till Christmas...

It's on 25 December every year. So why do we always leave Christmas shopping till the eleventh hour? How does Christmas always manage to sneak up on us and leave us feeling stressed when we should be enjoying the festive season? Why do we always promise ourselves this year will be different, we'll be more prepared, less frantic at the last minute.

Close your eyes and imagine how fabulous it would be the month before Christmas, to be one of those people we envy, telling everyone that the shopping is all done.

There is a great way of overcoming this annual problem. It's a fairly good bet that the people you buy birthday presents for are lucky enough to receive a Christmas gift from you as well? So, each time you buy a birthday present, buy that person's Christmas gift at the same time. Another advantage with this is you'll be much more likely to find a special offer popping up outside the festive season when trade is less brisk, than in the frenzied run up to Christmas when the world and his wife are crowding the malls.
